Great Alaskan Cruise Routes to Sail On

One of the best ways of visiting Alaska is to visit on a cruise. There are many different groups that offer Alaskan cruises and there are all sorts of destinations that are featured among these cruises.

These Alaskan cruise routes go through a variety of different types of places around Alaska.

Many top cruises will take routes around the southeastern part of the state. This is especially the case for routes that start and end in Seattle or Vancouver. Various impressive islands and wildlife can be found along these areas. The history of Alaska can also be explored on these routes as they can go through the state capital of Juneau and other notable outposts including Sitka and Ketchikan. In many cases the Hubbard Glacier will be a popular feature for these routes.

Other routes can make a pass into the main city of Anchorage. This city can be reached through a pass in the water right outside of the Pacific Ocean. The amazing culture of Anchorage makes this a popular place that many different cruise routes will go into.

Other routes will go through the southern glaciers of Alaska. The Glacier Bay, Hubbard Glacier and College Fjord are among the most popular of these glaciers to see around Alaska. This is especially the case for routes that start in Seward.

Inside passage routes are unique to experience when visiting Alaska. These routes are ones that go through the islands on the southeastern part of Alaska. Not all cruise groups offer these routes but they will have all sorts of great things to see. Many of these routes will have direct stops in Ketchikan for people to visit the native areas and totems of the land. The town of Skagway is another area where these inside passage routes will go through.

There are not many routes that deal with the western part of the state, which including the Aleutian Islands. This is because of how remote these areas are. There will be some routes that can offer option travel extensions that involve flying from Anchorage or Seward to Fairbanks and then en route to some of the most remote parts of the northern part of the state including Barrow. This is a great thing to consider when visiting Alaska but not all groups will offer these.

These are all great Alaskan cruise routes to see. These routes range from ones that go through the inside passage of the southeastern islands to ones that can reach the city of Anchorage. Some routes from different groups will offer options for traveling into the more remote parts of Alaska by air. All of these make for great options when visiting Alaska on a cruise.
